Before I post my Towel Day video, allow me to explain how I became such a huge Douglas Adams fan.
Many years ago, back when I was working at the EPA (as in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency), I came home from work in a soaking rainstorm, all the way from D.C. to Columbia, MD, in the early afternoon. As I recall, I was feeling sick and a bit miserable, a condition made worse by being soaked to the skin with torrential rain.
In any case, I took the train back to the MARC station in Savage and from there drove home, where I quickly took off my drenched clothes, changed into my comfy PJs, and made hot chicken soup.
Then, I settled down, drawing a blanket around myself and watched a show someone at work had recommended. That show, of course, was The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The awesome BBC version, of course.
Let me tell you, right from the opening scene of the show, I knew I wanted to read the book.
And while I watched the show, I thought, “This is the best damn show I’ve seen. Ever!”
So … I went on to read the first book, then the second, and so on.
Now, I am one of the biggest Douglas Adams fans you’d ever want to see.
Therefore, it is with great pleasure that I present my Tribute to Douglas Adams in celebration of Towel Day!
PS: Happy Memorial Day! I’ll give you two videos I found! 🙂
Remember, don’t drink and drive! Also, would you believe this video has more than 8,000 views?
