Hi, today I’m reviewing Hurricane Room by Kim Sherwood. There, see the name, see the title, see the book. Yes, I enjoyed this very much. Bond is alive and Joanna Harwood is awesome. She is a double O agent who finds him basically. Well, let’s just say they have an interesting relationship that I really liked and interesting in so many ways.

This book just brings together so much of the Bond world. You have people like that guy, Drago*, I guess his name is. Yeah, Drago, [sic, very sic] right? He’s the one whose daughter married James Bond. Yes. Yeah, he’s in this. Or Diana Rigg, as the case may be, if somebody remembers On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Anyway, yeah, that’s in there. That reference is in there. There’s all sorts of references, but it updates the whole thing in a way that is just kind of amazing and fun to read. And definitely, oh my gosh, there are going to be some management changes at MI6. That’s all I can say. Stuff is being done. Changes are afoot. That’s all I will say.

So having said that, I would recommend that you try this book. It is both a thriller and kind of a romance at the same time. There’s a romantic element to all of this. But then James Bond is a bit of a romantic figure if you come right down to it and a bit of a fantasy. That’s fine. That’s what movies are for. They create fantasies. They create worlds that we can’t necessarily experience ourselves. So anyway, that’s part of the reason for movies.

Having said that, I really, really enjoyed this book. And I wonder if the Bond people would be willing to see this being made into anything. Just wondering. It’s okay to wonder about these things, right? All right then. Thank you very much and be seeing you. Take care.

PS: I should mention that this is the third in a trilogy about Bond. So it really does have the feel of kind of sticking an ending, a happy ending, if you will.

Maybe a bittersweet ending would be a better way of putting it. Yeah, because Bond is alive, but okay, bittersweet ending then. How’s that sound? I think that’s about right. All right then. I’m done. Stick a fork in me. Be seeing you.

*It was Draco.
