Hi. Today I’m reviewing Do You See What I See? A Novella by Peter Swanson. I enjoyed this book. It’s interesting. It’s interesting the way they describe it as being fantastically creepy. A “fantastically creepy holiday story of a writer tasked with helping a famous novelist finish his next book. But when two dead bodies turn up at the seaside manor, he must uncover the killer before the clock ticks down to Christmas Day.”
Somehow I’m just not quite remembering the story that way. I don’t know what it is. I found it highly readable. Yeah, it can get creepy in places, but I never felt creeped out by it particularly. But I was intrigued throughout, intrigued enough to keep reading and keep reading to the very end where there seems to be a non-resolution of sorts.
I guess you could call it a resolution. I won’t tell you anymore because to say more, as they say, that would be telling. But I do recommend the book. It’s just a fun little read. It’s a novella, so it’s short. And like I said, you could probably read it in a day or less, but I’m reading like 10 books all at once, which is stupid.
I really do have to just pick a book or two or three and focus on them. No matter how tempting all the others are, honestly, there’s just too much good stuff out there to just say ignore it, I guess. But at some point you do have to draw the line because nobody can handle all of it. There’s too much, way too much. There’s loads of content. The question is, what do you want to do with it after it’s published?
What are your plans? Anyway, this is going from a review to advice and I don’t feel like going there. So I’m not the right person to give advice anyway. Not really. I mean, unless it’s just how to relax and forget about everything. I can tell you about that because I’ve done that before in self-defense of my health. Thank you. That’s it. Be seeing you.
