Hi everyone. I’m just going to review quickly this book, The Man in Black by Elly GriffithsThe Man in Black and Other Stories. It’s a collection of short stories and really the perfect book for Christmas and the holidays in general. It’s just got the most wonderful stories. She writes kind of a variety of genres in this one. You have crime, you have kind of warm family settings, you have holiday nonsense with the family stuff. You have creepy ghost stories, too. I got to tell you, creepy parts, which seems very fitting for somebody who writes about an archeologist somehow and writes with such authority about it.

And I just always feel like I’m just right there with Ruth Galloway when she’s doing whatever she’s doing. I just love her books and I really enjoyed this one and I highly recommend it, and I love that she mentions Marmite in her stories, because I love Marmite and I’m the only American that I know who loves Marmite, at least that I know. And she even mentions Doctor Who, which is a plus, a big plus.

So … thoroughly British and thoroughly enjoyable and I loved it. So do read this book and don’t buy it from Amazon. I’m sure she would say the same thing if she felt at liberty to say so. I don’t know.

All I can say is support your local indie bookstore this Christmas. In fact, support your local indie business while you’re at it. Yeah, there I said it. Alright. And I said it along with saying, I love this book.

So check it out if you like short stories and if you like cozy mystery that has somewhat of a sarcastic edge to it. I love that about her. She just has this great sense of humour, very British and I love it. Take care and talk to you later. Be seeing you.

You can buy the ebook from any of these retailers

You can also buy it in print from my online bookstore and support indie bookstores.
